Rates

Individual Therapy:

My full rate range is $170-$210 per session with one client.

Relationship Therapy:

My rate range is $230-$260 per session with two clients and increases by $50 with each additional relationship member.

Sliding Scale:

I see a limited number of clients at a reduced rate in order to expand access to care. Please let me know if your financial circumstances lead you to need a reduced rate and we can discuss what might be possible!

I also see clients at an elevated rate. If you are able to pay more than my standard rate and would like to support the access needs of our communities, please let me know.

FAQ

How long are sessions?

Individual psychotherapy sessions are 45 minutes. Relationship therapy sessions are 55 minutes.

How frequent are sessions?

Therapy is a commitment to your mental health and, as such, most people find weekly sessions to be ideal. We can also discuss sessions every other week or twice per week, pending availability.

Do you see clients in person or remotely?

Both! I operate in a hybrid model. I see clients in person two days per week in lower Manhattan, and I also see clients virtually through a HIPAA-compliant video platform.

Do you take insurance?

I am not currently able to accept insurance for therapy. However, if you have out-of-network benefits with your insurance, I am able to provide a superbill (which is like a therapy receipt) for you to submit to them for reimbursement. Insurance with out-of-network allowances often will provide reimbursement for a large portion of the fee, if not the fee in full.

What questions should I ask my insurance to understand my benefits?

I know it can be intimidating to navigate the insurance landscape. I’m happy to talk you through out-of-network insurance basics, but here are some good starting questions to ask.

  1. Do I have out-of-network benefits for psychotherapy/couple’s therapy?
  2. Do I have a deductible I need to meet before benefits will be activated?
  3. Do I have a limited number of sessions covered per year?
  4. What is the maximum session rate that insurance will cover?
  5. Do I have coinsurance responsibilities?
  6. How do I submit my superbills for reimbursement?
  7. Do I have an out-of-pocket maximum?
What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept cash, check, credit cards, HSA, FSA, Venmo, Zelle, and Squarecash/Cash App. Fees can be paid in advance or within 24 hours of the session (unless other arrangements are made).

What is your cancellation policy?

Appointments can be cancelled or rescheduled within 48 hours of our appointment time, pending availability. Non-emergency cancellations within 48 hours of the appointment time will require payment of my full fee.

What if I don’t identify as queer, kinky, nonmonogamous, or a sex worker?

That’s no problem! I see clients of all sexual, gender, and relational identities. You do not have to identify as any of the above populations in order to see me. I also have clients who are unsure if they fit into the above identities, and utilize our time together to explore that exact question.

Are you under supervision?

I am! I work under the supervision of Dr. Dulcinea Alex Pitagora. As such, they oversee my cases and have access to my notes. In order to continue expanding my skills and perspectives as a clinician, I may periodically join supervision groups of other therapists in which I only share de-identified information about my cases.

Can you tell me about the accessibility and COVID protections of your office?

The office in which I practice is on the 5th floor of a multi-use office building. The building has two elevators and does not have any steps to enter. The building and the office suite each have a manual-entry door, one which opens inward and the other of which opens outward. The suite has a single-occupancy, gender-neutral bathroom with a handrail.

There are air purifiers, hand sanitizer, and surgical masks available in the waiting room and my office space. I will happily mask during sessions if requested by clients.

If you have safety/accessibility concerns that are not addressed above, please feel free to inquire!
